This place has changed ownership over the years & it has always been a hit or miss every time I stop by but LET ME TELL YOU, this last time I went I had some wings so good I had to stop by AGAIN the next day. The Gaelic Gold wings are a staple on a menu, didn't try any other flavor but they are crispy wings finished on the grill with a special dry rub & garlic butter sauce. I had a side of garlic fries & it really sealed the deal. Aside from the Gaelic Gold wings I also had some of their Brussel sprouts & the sauce was impeccable! This place did not disappoint. Service can sometimes be a little slow when a game is going on or when the place is particularly packed but personally I had a great experience &the food was totally worth it.

The Kilt has Fallen in McAllen (and not i hm ma good way) I've been to a few of these establishments before and wanted to see if this one was on the same level.
Sadly it was not (and that's putting it mildly). Compared to to other kilts, the appearance of the restaurant was lacking. The staff was not up to pair. Only one wore anything resemblingly a uniform the others were wearing ether Jean shorts and t shirts clothing more the style of a Hooters, no uniformity and sometimes I could jot tell they even worked there. Timing was also a major issue. For example it wasnt a super busy night and after being seated it was around 15 minutes before my drink order was taken (10 more before I got it) and after asking for my check, it took 25 minutes (and me asking 4 other waitresses).
I also found it strange that eve. At 9pm they had little kids walking the floor with large boxes trying to sell flowers or sweets (inside the restaurant), seemed out of place for sure.
On a other note, out of the 4 or 5 kilts I've seen, this is the only one where they push the "we have bikini nights" seems like they are stepping rather low to get people in.... keep it classy, not trashy and you might improve the reputation.
The biggest issue I must say was the food quality. I was not impressed by any of the things I ordered, drink order was simple but wrong, the fries were not eatable and I believe (unable to medically confirm) that the chicken was undercooked and resulted in my GI discomfort following my visit.
I like the franchise but have to rate this one as the worst I've experienced. Hopefully they put some effort (or get some new management) to try and turn this place around. -

This place has really changed in the past couple of years. Seems like they are on their last hurrah. Saturday night and 2 female bartenders act like they would rather be anywhere but here. Customer service is non existent..for mediocre food??? NO thanks. Really needs improvement or wont last much longer.

Food is horrid, and the only thing good is beer, naturally. Female servers with push up bras, but male servers in long kilts!!! He!l no!

I travel and like to drop into kilts around the country. Been a few months since I've been in McAllen and checked out this one. Positive is that the girls are very good looking and attentive but that's where it ends. Multiple beer taps were dry and the food was awful. Spicy mother clucked came out on the wrong bun (which was stale) and the chicken itself was over cooked.
So of the 3 things they need to do girls, beer, food. Only the girls were up to scratch. Very poor showing.
